Growing our God family through vital connections.
– We are alive to…
Know Jesus, and to Make Him Known, so…
Let’s Go, and Let’s Grow!
Our Growth Track >>
Step 1
BELONG
Come be a part of the family that strives to love unconditionally. Learn about who we are at Emerge Church and find out what it looks like to be in community here.
Step 2
BELIEVE
Discover that it is Jesus that makes our church such a loving and healing place. Take a journey with us by learning to walk with Him every day. His Bible has all the answers!
Step 3
BECOME
As you continue to grow in your spiritual gifts, you will discover what service opportunity best fits you. Not only will this ignite you in new passions, it will also bring a positive and lasting impact to the lives of others.
Step 4
BEYOND
Equipped with God’s love, you can fulfill the Great Commission by reaching out to others and giving away the love He has given you for free. This allows others to take the exact same journey.
– Our Guiding Principles
- Jesus is the centre; His love always prevails.
- We focus on what is right about Jesus, not what’s wrong with the world.
- We want to be contagious by our lifestyle and attitude, proving that Jesus is still the answer.
- Jesus can make anyone new.
- We need to allow God to first transform us so…
- We want to be the hands of Jesus – helping wherever we can.
- We want to see many more grow in these truths.
Sunday morning is the key piece to our overall strategy
At Emerge Church we are working to establish a culture that:
1. Welcomes and includes everyone
1. Welcomes and includes everyone
2. Shares the love of Christ
3. Teaches and grows individuals through community
3. Teaches and grows individuals through community
– Our Culture
‘Taste and see that the Lord is good’. . .We long for our Sunday morning to be an engaging experience that is very meaningful for the seeker and saint alike; creating a hunger to go deeper with God.
– Our Beliefs…
… Are in line with the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada (EFC), and consist of the following tenets:
- the Holy Scriptures are divinely “inbreathed”, infallible, inerrant and the authoritative Word of God.
- that there is one God eternally existent in the persons of the Holy Trinity; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
- in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His deity, His perfect life, the eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning death, His ascension to the Father’s right-hand and His personal return to earth at His second advent.
- that everyone is a sinner, deserving punishment from God.
- that our redemption is accomplished exclusively by Christ’s finished work on the cross; and that “regeneration” by the power of the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for each person’s salvation.
- in the continuous gathering together of believers for instruction, edification and training in world evangelization. In pure and righteous living, the present-day reality of the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and the Lord’s supernatural healing of the physical body.
- in Christ’s complete leadership of the Church, in the continuing practice of Christian baptism and the Lord’s supper [communion].
- in the resurrection of the body, the eternal blessedness of followers of Jesus Christ and the eternal punishment of the wicked.

– History of Emerge Church
Emerge Church has a longstanding heritage in Sylvan Lake. Starting out in a local cottage of a Missionary worker named Mrs. Wright in 1938, the church grew and began gathering in the W.I. Hall. In 1942, a building was purchased and moved from Lower Camp. In 1952, a Sunday School Hall was constructed to accommodate the growing families. The name was changed from Pentecostal Tabernacle to Gospel Chapel.
In the early 1980’s, four acres of land were donated to construct our current facility. Construction began in 1986 and the congregation moved into the new facility in 1989. In March 2005, the additions of Lighthouse Christian Academy and the new auditorium were dedicated.
In the fall of 2019, Gospel Chapel was rebranded as Emerge Church. The word Emerge means to come forward into something new. We are committed to continuing to build with God in Sylvan Lake and are excited to move forward into this new season!
